Does the 6SL7 contribute to the sound of the R300?

Tonight my modded and upgraded R8 will have 90 hours of burn in. And it sounds wonderful. It took awhile to compleate the transformation. I’m 79 years young and have Parkinson’s. So I had to wait for non shaky days to solder. The only work I didn’t do was mess with the wiring. To much like spaghette. So I quite while I was ahead. I like Stephie worked a section at a time and then would test it for a day and then do another section. The bias board mod really brought out the heart of the R8. I have watched all of the R8 videos at least 3 times and refered to them often. But have not seen or heard any mention of the two MICA caps on the BOM. Where do they go? Which vidio?

I purchased my R8 in Jan. From China-hifi-Audio.com. Today I removed the bottom cover plate to prepair to do the upgrades and mods. Having red plated the V2 power tube several weeks ago I first looked for fried resistors and any other faults to no avail. I did however observe that the power caps were 500 volts not like the 450V that the R8 Stephi was working on had. Also all the resistors appeared to be of better quality with a smoother surface and no visable flaking. So it appears that Someone at Willsenton is listening in on us R8 fans.

Hi Stephie. I'm watching the video of modding and replacing the resistors and two caps. You say the R8 has a negative power supply . So would I be correct in soldering the 100v / 160uf cap negative lead to positive? And the 100v / 100uf negative to negative and positive to positive?

What does the M represent in 200 MΩ?

The video showing replacing the resistors in the power supply shows a GREEN (wire round) resistor?) resistor. What is the VALUE of that resistor? And does it have to be a wire round resistor?

I sourced the pwr caps from Mouser and choke from Powell Electronics. I didn’t try Mouser because it’s a pain to search for anything there. Parts Connection seems to have about everything I need. Any suggestions for other sources? Question: What are the two items at the bottom of the BOM? GNFB resistor and cap?

I will forever be a tube sound lover. I’m an old retired guy here to mod and update my R8. I am not a trained tech of anything. But show me a recipe, photos, videos and I’ll get the job done. Works for me. I have everything but the resistors and capacitors before I ask my neighbor to move the 65 pound beast to my work table. Oh, recently V2 red plated.
