Yep, I have upgraded the tubes and that is OK but I would like a Stephe 'deep dive' into what else can be done, as it is a fundamentally great amp. I think a lot of hifi buffs would benefit

Thank you for replying Stephe. I have plenty of red LEDs but I have never seen an axial one, One idea I had was taking a shot of the one you used and sending that to a decent parts supplier... I will see how that goes. Otherwise your suggestion re cathode resistor/bypass cap I can now understand after your post. Thank you again. Wayne

I have done all the mods to the A50 apart from the Cascode - this is due to my lack of knowledge about the LED used. Local suppliers (Australia) do not seem to have an inline LED so I wonder if a simple diode would suffice? Wayne

Thank you. For me it is pretty expensive - over $1,000 here in Australia. Some claim REW can be used but AudioAnalyser seems easier. Just have to justify the $$$$
